After the first inter-sectorial agreement concluded on April 25, 2006 by European social partners on the protection of workers exposed to breathable crystalline silica (see our article No.061155), the signatory parties established a follow-up system, presented as an Excel file. A software should be put online at the beginning of 2008 to replace this tools which soon appeared to be unsuitable. (Ref. 070918)
The agreement, signed in April 2006 and in effect since November of the same year, is currently being implemented in Member States. Indeed, the 15 employers’ organizations which signed the agreement have to spread to all member companies which enter its scope the “reporting” system planned by the agreement. Indeed, every company has to identify the workers exposed, evaluate the risks and, every year, indicate which actions among those offered by the agreement, have been chosen for their site. I
