EU: the date to transpose the Directive on electromagnetic fields postponed

Directive 2008/46 of April 23, 2008, which provides for a four-year postponement of the deadline for transposition of Directive 2004/40/EC concerning minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (electromagnetic fields) - 18th individual Directive within the meaning of Article 16(1) of Directive 89/391/EEC - was published in the OJEU. This directive provides for a four year postponement of the deadline for the transposition of Directive 2004/40 from April 30, 2008 to April 30, 2012, to ensure that the limits of exposure planned by the directive won’t be prejudicial to medical imaging.
