Gerard Larcher's Flexicurity Mission rendered its report during the Council on Employment and Social Affairs of December 17. This report follows the communication of the European Commission entitled: "Towards Common Principles of Flexicurity: More and better jobs through flexibility and security." The goal of the mission was to study, via a trip through Europe, concrete cases of flexicurity. It traveled to France, Poland, Sweden, Finland and Spain. (Ref. 081043)
Flexicurity is a key concept for the European Employment Strategy, and one of the pillars of the Lisbon Strategy. The report presented on December 17 shows that common flexicurity principles are not homogeneous.
