During a short speech, on February 28, 2008, in front of the Group II (employees) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the European Commissioner in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Vladimir Spidla, announced that the European Commission wants to present several initiatives, under the form of a "package", to favor anticipatory management of restructurings.
