The Minister of Labour, Social Relations and Solidarity presented at Council of Ministers on September 7, 2007, a bill aiming at implementing disposals of community law on the status of European Cooperative Society and protection of employees in the event of the insolvency of their employer. These two bills follow the launching of two infridgment procedures against France. (Ref. 070733)
This bill implements the directive n° 2003/72 of the July 22, 2003 supplementing the Statute for a European Cooperative Society with regard to the involvement of employees. European Cooperative Societies’ aim at allowing creation of new cooperative enterprises of natural or legal persons at European level. The bill provides the rights of information, consultation and participation of employees in a European cooperative society.
