Orange signed an agreement with three trade union bodies representing 58.5% of its employees (CFDT-F3C, CGT-FAPT, FO-Com) that frames the multinational telecommunication giant’s digital transformation. The agreement commits to broad principles on the right to disconnect, on digital related training, and on the use of employees’ personal data. The company’s unions intend to set up a national digital council to refine the agreement.
A landmark agreement for Orange. This is the first time a telephone operator has signed an agreement with its employees over supporting the digital transformation process. Following a year of negotiations with the unions and the rejection of the first version of the agreement back in the spring of 2016, the agreement will now be applied to 96,000 employees in France.
