Germany: pensioners are increasingly returning to the workplace
With BMW announcing the launch of its program to re-engage thousands of former staff members (c.f. article No. 11000), Bosch has just initiated in Japan its 8th national ‘support’ group comprising retirees who participate in a consultancy role. Thyssen-Krupp, Daimler, Otto-Gruppe and ZF are also involved in similar ventures, which for the most part result in outsourcing activities. Many advantages stem from having these ‘veterans’ working once again among the regular staff, ranging from augmented dynamism to stronger social cohesion.
