Germany: Ver.di is threatening to begin a strike at Deutsche Telekom

According to Ver.di, the services union, the telephone company would intend to transfer over 60,000 employees in three new subsidiaries, named T-Service, where they will work more and be paid less. In order to protest against this project, which should receive the support of DT's surveillance council, on February 28, the union called for a large demonstration that same day before the group’s headquarters and did not exclude the possibility to launch a strike. The management said it was ready to negotiate an employment guarantee for the transferred employees. (Ref. 070175)
