Great Britain : government wants to reduce red tape and checks in companies

Finance Minister Gordon Brown wants to reduce paper exchanges and inspections in companies which have a socially responsible behaviour. Checks would be reoriented towards companies which are known for their abuses. Employers are happy with these proposals. (Ref. 061203)

Gordon Brown has unveiled, Tuesday November 28th, before the CBI’s congress, a series of measures aimed at lessening the regulations applying to companies. He wants to fight in priority the bureaucratic aspects of the fiscal administration and the checks involving health and safety, which are not targeted enough, according to him.
