In October 2008, The UK Department of Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR) published the second of a three-wave study into the implementation of information and cConsultation (I&C) in large and medium-sized companies in the UK. The BERR study set out to discover how employers, employees and trade unions are responding to the changed legal environment, and in particular to investigate the impact of I&C arrangements on management decision-making, employee commitment, employment relations climate and organisational effectiveness. Study scope. The BERR study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of I&C arrangements as set out by the ICE Regulations, which have applied to all UK organisations of at least 100 employees since 2007.
