The government commits to reduce the rate of fatal accidents by 10% year-on-year through emphasis on health and safety training. The leader of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, John Lacey, thinks that the number of inspectors on the sites should be increased, and therefore that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) – the organization in charge of these issues – should get more funding.
