As part of wider justice reforms the UK government has launched an open consultation to reform the employment tribunal system, which enjoys separate status within the UK’s justice system. Whilst the controversial question of recently applied high legal fees may not have been included, the potential for online complaints treatment was.
The UK government has indicated that the Employments Tribunals Act 1996 is set for modification. This is the act that regulates the employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeals Tribunals. Three months ago the UK government commenced reforming the wider justice system, a project for which conservative PM Theresa May’s Government has budgeted £1 billion (€1.17 billion) and it is now the turn of the Employment Tribunals to come under reform scrutiny with the aim of streamlining procedures and cutting costs.
