On May 22, Enrico Giovannini, the new Minister of Labor, met with the representatives of the key union and employers’ organization for a first consultation on the measures envisioned by the government on labor and youth employment. The labor law reform, notably fixed-term contracts and apprenticeship, as well as the pension and social dampers reform could be reviewed. (Ref. 130344)

At the meeting with union and employers’ representatives on May 22, this is how Labor Minister Enrico Giovannini summed up the changes the government intends to make to the labor law reform (No. 92/2012, see article No. 120432). On fixed-term contracts, a possible amendment could be to reduce the time interval between different contracts.
