Reform of the benefits system. For the CGIL, Cisl, and Uil, the pension reforms of the Monti government in 2011 (cf. article No. 110800) generated “not only injustices for workers, and penalized retirees, but above all they created an obstacle in the labor market, and took away prospects for insurance related benefits for young workers”. The three central unions, CGIL, Cisl, and Uil will this month complete consultations on their united platform concerning taxation and benefits. They hope it will serve to defend their common position on two issues that affect all workers. This initiative marks a return to united action after a long period of division.
