Lafarge: new global framework agreement on CSR and international industrial relations
On May 21, Lafarge Group, the international manufacturing union, IndustriAll, and the Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI) signed, in presence of the ILO Director General Guy Ryder, their new global framework agreement on CSR and international industrial relations. In 2005, the same parties had signed a first agreement on the subject. The new text improves commitments in terms of union rights and the new text improves commitments in terms of union rights and compliance with fundamental social rights by suppliers and subcontractors.
