The French group Lafarge (90.000 employees), world leader in construction materials, will organize, in June, a "safety month" in 76 countries where the group is present. At every site, "one or more days will be devoted to safety awareness programs and training, for the Group's employees, as well as their families, subcontractors and local communities." (Ref. 080457)

its CEO, Bruno Lafont, who, in 2006, “set an objective for the Group to become
one of the world’s leading industrial groups in terms of health and safety,
with the ambition of achieving zero accidents as quickly as possible,” the group
carried out an audit with the Dupont “Safety Resources” unit, “to make a
diagnosis of the situation, based on questionnaires, interviews and an assessment
of representative sites,” Lafarge explains.
