Smoking ban act came into effect on September 5, 2006 (see our dispatch n° 02826). The Luxembourg's Health Minister is drawing a positive assessment of its enforcement. Most companies chose to totally ban smoking on the workplace. Large companies tend to offer support methods to stop smoking. (Ref. 070729)
The bill from August 11, 2006 concerning the fight against smoking introduced a dispoasal in labour law which provides for the employer’s duty to take “the necessary measures so that workers are efficiently protected against emanations coming from others smokers”.
