Netherlands: strike in Rotterdam’s public transportation system

A 24 hour strike, launched by labour unions, on September 25th, in the public transportation network of Rotterdam, was followed at 100 %. Its objective: to protest against the social consequences of the privatization of Randstad Plus, the bus branch of RET, Rotterdam's public transportation company. (Ref. 06951)

By solidarity with the 1000 workers concerned by the privatization, some 2000 other drivers, inspectors and employees working for the Rotterdam network followed the strike. The two main claims are as follows: 1/ safeguard the current collective agreement, and especially, and to get guarantees on the safeguard of employment. At the moment, labour unions did not succeed.
