Spain/UGT calls for legislation in order to prepare for the impact of automation on the world of work. On 24 October the UGT presented the conclusions from a report called ‘The impact of automation on employment in Spain,’ and called for urgent measures to be taken to manage the disruption effects of digitalization on the labor market. Secretary for trade union policy, Gonzalo Pino is calling for the launch of a national technological inclusion plan in order to legislate ‘on the one hand to take advantage of major opportunities offered by new technologies to boost productivity and competitiveness, and on the other hand to mitigate the negative impact by training workers with digital competences.’
