Poland: the American company Dell creates 12,000 jobs

Dell is going to create 12,000 jobs in Poland. Following negotiations, the American company is moving into Lodz, the second largest town in the country with a million inhabitants. This investment will guarantee work for a quarter of the town’s 48,000 unemployed. (Ref. 06822)

Why Lodz ? There are 106,000 students there many of whom are studying IT or electronics, either at the town’s polytechnic or high school. The American investor stipulates that they must have finished their higher studies and have an excellent knowledge of English. 20 to 30% of the young recruits do meet this criteria.
