Portugal : employers’ contribution amendment to fight job insecurity

One of the greatest sources of income for the Social Security consists in the single social tax (taxa social única), to be supported by the employers. Each employer is obliged to pay a tax of 23.75 % to be calculated over the wages paid to each one of its workers. The government proposes to modify this tax policy in order to fight job insecurity.
