Last December, the management of the electric components manufacturing announced that it wanted to become a European company (SE) by May. The special negotiating committee set up to negotiate the modalities for involving workers in the future SE met on February 27 for the first time. It appointed a select technical committee for the talks. The same day, the works council’s office met and rendered an opinion asking Schneider to negotiate social guarantees within the framework of the sale of Invensys’ Appliance unit.
Bargaining for the SE. The 30 members of the SNB set up to negotiate the modalities for involving workers in the future SE (a debate required by Regulation 2157/2001 and Directive 2001/86 introducing the SE status, a special for of undertaking in European law) met with the management for the first time on February 27. At the management’s request, a select technical committee was appointed to run the negotiations and report to the full SNB. It will be composed of 11 members: 3 representatives
