For the first time, from 4 to 6 March, the Belgian chemical company organised the “Solvay Global Forum”, platform for international social dialogue. Jean-Christophe Sciberras, Group Director of Industrial Relations, and Albert Kruft, EWC secretary and member of the Global Forum, spoke to Planet Labor about their expectations for this new voluntary, non-binding, and practical body.
“We have social dialogue on a European level which works well, is innovative and has grown via mutual trust. Meanwhile, the proportion of our turnover generated outside of Europe is increasing, and as we move further away from Europe, there is a real difference in the way unions deal with the topics”, Jean-Christophe Sciberras, Director of Industrial Relations, explained to Planet Labor.
