Sony Spain : Catalan factory reduces precariousness but increases flexibility

450 temporary workers of Sony in Villadecavalls, Catalonia, should be permanently hired following an agreement signed between management and the work's council, which also provides for more flexibility in the work organization. (Ref. 070017)

The company will integrate 300 workers under a ” stable-discontinuous ” contract and 150 under a stable contract but with several flexibility conditions :

  • The 150 new permanent workers will work less or will not come to work when the production is low. They will have to compensate for these un-worked hours, according to a system of ” working hours credit ” linked to the company’s needs.
