Spain: call for indefinite strike in coal industry

The miners’ movement is growing.  Mobilization in the mining industry started a few weeks ago with punctual days of strike.  As interlocutors failed to respond, unions decided to increase the pressure.  They called for a demonstration in Madrid on Thursday, May 31, close to the Ministry of Industry, where 10,000 people are expected – miners and local elected officials from across the country.  Then, an open strike will start tomorrow, Friday, June 1.
