Spain: competitiveness agreement signed at the Almussafes Ford facility

Management and unions have agreed on job stability guarantees which will give a fresh boost to the Ford car production facility at Almussafes near Valencia. Both management and unions have signed a new company agreement for the Almussafes Ford production facility near Valencia (Spain). Negotiations had started the day after a €750 million investment plan had been announced to modernize the production facility’s infrastructure on 17 November 2017. These talks came to a close on 31 January 2018 with 7,667 employees at the facility being consulted and approving (51.2%) the ‘Horizon 2020s’ plan.

Included in the agreement is a salary rise to be spread over three years: 2.5% for 2019, 1.5% for 2020, and the inflation index rate (CPI) plus 0.5% for 2021. “This agreement will deliver stability for the next four years across the whole facility, and will also maintain workers’ purchasing power,” stated Carlos Faubel, head of the majority UGT Almussafes union and Ford EWC board member.
