Spain: the implementation decree of the law on subcontracting in the building sector was published

This royal decree published on August 25 comes within the double line of the October 2006 law which regulated the appeal to subcontracting in the building sector (see our story 061055), and of the new health and security strategy negotiated by social partners in June (see our story 070590). Indeed, it completes the first by specifying the modalities of licensed companies' register and of the demands of employment stability in subcontracting companies, but it also represents the first act to enforce the second, which clearly identified the building sector as a priority.   • plans the modalities of registration to the public record of certified companies that must be set in every labour administration. To be able to intervene on a construction site as principal or as a subcontractor, companies have to be registered in this record.
