The German car manufacturer has announced a European restructuring plan with reductions of capacities. The European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) is demanding the negotiation of a European agreement on restructuring and has set up a trade union coordination. The VW plant of Forest in Belgium would stop producing the Golf, leading to around 3500 job cuts according to a trade union source. (Ref 061167)
