Volkswagen: labour unions in Landaben (Spain) ready to negotiate flexibility according to the needs linked to the new Polo

After 19 months of tough negotiations over the new company agreement, the fight between management of VW-Navarre, which threatened to relocate the production, and the labor union CCOO, ended on the commitment of both parties to open negotiations on a calendar of launching of the new Polo and on the work organization. The big winner of the conflict is the CCOO, facing the UGT which is the first trade union in terms of members. The CCOO now wants to gain votes during the next professional elections. (Ref 06904)

A new company agreement. The concluded agreement, which will be in force until April 2007, sets the annual working time at 213 days, a 1000-euros bonus by employee in compensation for 2005, and a 4 % increase (that is 3.7 % of real increase in prices 2005 + 0.3 %) as from April 1st, 2006, as well as an early retirement plan for people over 58 years old.
