In 2026, video is set to become even more important in GEO strategies, as YouTube has now overtaked Reddit as the primary source cited by LLMs, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, etc. Last year, US GEO start-up Goodie AI analysed 6.1 million responses generated by LLMs. During the second half of 2025, the share of responses citing YouTube doubled, rising from 18.9% in August to 39.2% in December, while Reddit’s share fell from 44.2% to 20.3%, according to eMarketer.
