The German retailer Aldi Nord is launching a modernisation of the hard-discount store concept for all 5,000 units in European stores. The retailer is rolling out a brand-new concept called Aniko, a contraction for Aldi Nord Instore Konzept. It has already been tested in Aldi’s German home market, in the city of Herten, showing encouraging results. Aldi Nord will invest €5.2 billion to revamp all points of sale across Europe.
