The digital cloud giants are not slowing investments in generative AI, which needs massive computing power to function properly. Following Google and a US$300 million investment in Anthropic in February 2023 (it is now a 10% shareholder), Amazon is following suit. On September 25th, the firm announced an investment of up to US$4 billion in Open AI’s American startup competitor. The first investment is US$1.25 billion, and will eventually be followed by a second slice of US$2.75 billion....
