B&Q (Kingfisher group, Q3 2022 turnover of US$3.9 billion up by 1.7%) ended a partnership launched in 2020 with Asda, in order to focus on a convenience format. Eight D.I.Y. “shop in shops”, located within Asda supermarkets, will close from 11 March 2023. The 57 B&Q staff affected will be offered new jobs by the company. In parallel, the DIY retailer opened a new format of convenience stores on 27 January, in Camden and Palmers Green, London. A range of ‘takeaway’ products is also on offer....
