Argentina’s textile industry relies on a new policy to reflate the sector. According to Satadaya, sewing trade union, textile industry employed up to 1.5 million people from 2007 to 2015 (under Fernandez de Kirchner’s mandate) against 700,000 currently, with revenues of US$10 billion, being 50% below than a decade ago.
