On January 23, 2026, preparing to lose 16,000 staff, Amazon agreed to pay US$309 million as part of a judicial settlement related to a returns policy, which has been the subject of a class action launched in 2023. At this stage, the court, which must review and approve the settlement, has not yet issued a decision. The e-commerce giant (9-month 2025 revenue: US$180.2 billion, up by 13.4% year- on-year) is accused of failed to fully refund certain customers who returned items.
