To support the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic (consumer spending represents about 70% of GDP in the USA), the government launched food stamps in March 2020. Over 3 years, these aids represented about US$98 billion according to HSA Consulting. In December 2022, an end was finally decided by Congress.
