United States/ 29 businesses sign up to a commitment towards the White House equality pledge. On Friday 25 August, Women’s Equality Day, 29 companies announced they had signed up to a government initiative promoting equal pay for men and women, the White House Equal Pay Pledge. Launched in June 2016, the initiative intends for companies who commit to the pledge to actively fight against gender pay gaps, conduct annual audits on the issue, review recruitment policies, and both promote and implement equal pay measures for gender equality across all policies promoting equality (especially racial equality).
