This study analyzed, between April 2004 and December 2005, the managerial action of 517 European companies in 17 countries and 33 branches of industry, present at DJ STOXX 600 or the SBF 120.
While at the same time the European Commission decided to make 2007 the “European year of equal opportunities for all” by placing this issue in a joint action aimed at supporting equality and non-discrimination in the European Union, the inventory made by this study, even if it is partial, shows that strong disparities of performance exist not only between countries and sectors but also within the countries and the sectors analyzed.
