Belgian social partners, gathered within the National Work Council (CNT,) adopted a decision, on October 18, 2006, on the prevention against theft and controls outside the firm or workplace. This decision comprises the project for a collective convention prohibiting body search, specifying the conditions in which an employer can control his employees. (Ref. 061108)
The CNT adopted a unanimous decision – that includes the project for a working collective convention – as an answer to a governmental bill, aiming at modifying the April 10, 1990 law, concerning private and specific security. This law was already amended in 2004 to enable custody agents to realize, under certain circumstances, exit controls.
