The qualified experts appointed by the French government in the framework of transposing the Directive on Platform Workers submitted their report on 2 November. It paves the way for a bill by the end of the year to implement the presumption of employment, algorithmic transparency, and company-level social dialogue.

The European text establishes a presumption of employment for self-employed individuals working through platforms who are subject to “control” and “direction”, and grants workers rights with regard to algorithmic management.
