The news. On 25 September, Bulgarian MPs adopted on second reading amendments to the Labour Code setting up a new mechanism for determining the minimum wage. This will now take into account purchasing power, the general level of wages and their distribution, the wage growth rate, and labour productivity. The process will take place annually in two stages, before 15 August. Bilateral negotiations will take place between trade unions and employers’ organisations in order to agree on a wage range.
