The facts. On July 27, the Canadian government launched a consultation to introduce mandatory corporate due diligence measures regarding forced labor. It plans to require risk identification, the mitigation or termination of adverse impacts, and reporting (via an annual report) on labor exploitation in a broad sense, including freedom of association, discrimination, and health and safety.
