The news. The Chilean government of José Antonio Kast (far right), the president who took office in March, presented a bill on April 30 to limit minimum wage increases to inflation trends starting January 1, 2027 (based on inflation from April to December 2026). In the meantime, the text establishes a hike for 2026, effective May 1, to 546,546 pesos (€516) by factoring in the 1.4% inflation of the first quarter of 2026, equivalent to a €7 increase.
