On 28 February, the government and social partners presented a number of proposals to amend the law on foreigners, with the aim of facilitating the immigration of labour. The aim is to make the system more efficient and flexible in order to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce.
On 28 February, deputy prime minister and interior minister Davor Božinović, labour minister Marin Piletić and the social partners presented amendments to the country’s law on foreigners. The aim of the proposed amendments is to bring Croatian legislation into line with the EU Blue Card Directive (2021/1883), which should help to attract highly skilled workers as well as, in the field of IT, people with no qualifications but who can prove their skills through work experience.
