Seniors particularly enjoyed the country’s excellent economic situation : in the past two years, their unemployment rate has been divided by more than two. To take advantage of this "grey gold", employers propose to cancel the possibility to retire before 65/67, and the government is considering cancelling the obligation to retire at 70. (Ref. 080063)
Senior citizens’ added value. An analysis published last week in Agenda, the newsletter of the employers’ confederation DA (Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening), shows that in two years – from 2005 to 2007 – senior citizens’ unemployment has gone from 14% down to 8.4%, whereas the rate of people aged 58 has decreased from 12.2% to 5.2%.
