On June 11 Yves Bot, Advocate General at the ECJ, delivered his opinion on a Spanish case and requested that working time for peripatetic workers (no fixed or habitual place of work) includes the time spent travelling from their home to the first customer and from the last customer back home.
This Spanish case called into question two security system installation and maintenance companies who calculated working time as the time that elapses between the worker arriving at the first client premises of the day and the time that the worker leaves the final customer premises thus only taking into account journey times occurring between them.
