In its communication of March 17, the European Commission evaluates the implementation in Member States of Directive 2002/14/EC on information and consultation of employees. In spite of a few troubles in its implementation, the Commission thinks that it is too soon to amend it. (Ref. 080228)

As planned in Directive 2002/14, the Commission consulted Member States and European social partners on the enforcement of this text to examine a possible revision. Therefore, in its communication, it issued a report.
