On 08 April, the European union federation, IndustriALL Europe, coordinated its trade union bodies with membership within General Electric to undertake a European Action Day taking place simultaneously at its Paris headquarters and at company sites all over Europe protesting a restructuring plan that is threatening 6,500 jobs.
Twenty-five national unions have organized worker mobilization efforts across various company sites making up a full day of European action coordinated by IndustriALL Europe.
Outside at La Defens, Paris, more than 2,000 gathered locally and from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland to demonstrate at GE’s headquarters.
