The news. On 10 July, the German Parliament definitively adopted the “Act to Stabilise Contribution Rates in the Statutory Health Insurance System” (GKV-Beitragssatzstabilisierungsgesetz). The reform combines higher co-payments for insured persons, restrictions on certain benefits and cost-containment measures for healthcare providers (including caps on salary increases for doctors and clinics, as well as increased rebates for pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry).
