Key changes on January 1, 2011.

  • Short-time working compensation. Because of the strong economic recovery in Germany, the maximum legal duration of short-time working was brought back to 12 months (as opposed to 24 months in the thick of the crisis) for all requests introduced between January 1st and December 31, 2011.
